to prep D&D.

I’m building Lantern because I haven’t found a D&D prep tool that works the way I want.

The dedicated tools I’ve tried are too rigid. I end up fitting my ideas into their templates, their fields, their way of organising a campaign.

General note-taking apps give me freedom, but leave the D&D part to me. I have to bring in the monsters and references, set up the connections, and keep it all together.

I want the freedom of ordinary notes, with the useful D&D pieces already there.

That’s what I’m building: a private workspace with flexible pages, linked characters, and a built-in monster compendium. Somewhere I can write a scene, bring in a creature, and keep the relevant details close.

I’m starting with an alpha. If you’ve felt the same friction, I’d love you to try it and tell me what still gets in your way.
